The new trend on Indian Television is taking generation leaps and introducing new seasons every year. Shows like Ghum Hai Kisi Ke Pyaar mein, Udaariyan, Pandya Store are already following the path. The latest one to join the list is Imlie once again. Star Plus popular drama Imlie is all set for its third season. After giving popular jodis like Sumbul Toqueer- Fahmaan Khan and Karan Vohra - Megha Chakraborty, Gul Khan has casted Sai Ketan Rao and Adrija Roy as the leading faces for the third generation of the show and the promo introducing the same is out. What we liked?

The chemistry between Sai Ketan Rao and Adrija Roy shines in the promo. Additionally, the mystery surrounding how Imlie (played by Adrija Roy) ends up working in a questionable bar adds an intriguing element. Unlike many Indian TV shows, the female lead is depicted as strong, confident, and self-respecting. This portrayal has the potential to attract an audience if the creators maintain the integrity of the character and show her fulfilling her dreams to become a singer and not just get caught in solving issues of male lead's family like other seasons. Moreover, Adrija Roy looks stunning in her role as a bar singer.

What we didn't like?

Sai please take off that wig. Its hideous. He's such a handsome guy, and this new look doesn't do justice to his charm. The hairstyle doesn't enhance his appeal, nor does it give him the appearance of a wealthy business tycoon who has returned from abroad.

Furthermore, the storyline appears to be quite outdated, especially the overall setup. The sets should reflect that we're watching a TV show set in 2023, not the 90s. This disparity could potentially create a disconnection among the audience.

The promo shows both promise and a potential downside. The upcoming season 3 could either become a blockbuster or go downhill, with little middle ground. It's a high-stakes situation.
