Sahil Uppal quitting Pandya Store; Says 'I will not join an ongoing show in future

"Pandya Store," a popular television drama featuring Priyanshi Yadav and Rohit Chandel in prominent roles, has long held the affection of its viewers. Following a significant narrative leap, the series introduced several new characters into its storyline.
Among the fresh faces was actor Sahil Uppal, recognized for his contributions to shows like "Ek Shringaar Swabhiman" and "Pinjra," who joined the cast some months after the narrative leap. Portraying the character of Chiku, Sahil quickly endeared himself to audiences with his stellar performance. However, in a recent development, the actor has made the difficult decision to bid farewell to the beloved show.
In an exclusive conversation with TOI, Sahil Uppal disclosed the reasons behind his departure. He explained that he initially joined "Pandya Store" with high expectations, drawn by the assurance that each character would receive equitable treatment in terms of screen time and storyline, as evidenced by previous seasons of the show. Initially, his character enjoyed significant prominence and ample screen space. However, as the plot progressed, Sahil observed a diminishing focus on his character.
Despite patiently waiting for the makers to spotlight his role, Sahil ultimately felt that his character was not receiving the attention it deserved. Understanding the dynamics of television storytelling, Sahil made the difficult decision to part ways with the show, emphasizing that the decision was reached amicably between him and the production team.
Reflecting on his time on "Pandya Store," Sahil expressed deep fondness for the experience, highlighting the cherished memories he will carry forward. He also disclosed his resolve to refrain from joining ongoing shows in the future, citing the challenge of integrating into established narratives where viewers often have established preferences for existing characters.
Moving forward, Sahil affirmed his focus on pursuing lead roles in television projects. With his departure from "Pandya Store," the audience awaits with anticipation to see which actor will step into the shoes of Chiku and continue the journey within the beloved series.
